I was turning the front right leveling leg out when the threads stripped out & it wouldn't turn out or in after that. I believe it stripped out because the threads on the leg are metal but the threads on the frame are plastic. Because it stripped out I had to use a block of wood under the leg to level it out. I was also disappointed because I thought the whole frig was stainless steel but just the door is stainless steel.

Had the GE 27 refrigerator for about a month now. Great looking stainless steel finish which make cleaning a breeze (food and fingerprints). Thus far everything is working fine with the refrigerator. Although the fan that blows cold air into the fridge section is a bit noisy, one might think that the refrigerator is running constantly, but one can live with it.

After our move to a new home we replaced the aging refrigerator with this GE French Door bottom freezer model. We had the same model at the house we moved from and loved it. No problems there in 3 years of use.

Refrigerator is spacious. Temperature is consistent and appearance is good. One downside is the water temperature for the internal supply is not cold enough probably due to a small reservoir.

First, this is an extremely loud noisy fridge. It is significantly louder than my old Samsung. Lots of rattling and sometimes I™™d have to give it a push and it will stop. A few months into having it the ice machine switch broke off and the entire ice maker needed to be replaced they couldn™™t just repair the switch. One year and 3 weeks later the freezer is not working and frost has covered the back of it. It™™s making the loudest humming like an engine reving and it just runs and runs all day long and the temp won™™t drop below 25 degrees. I™™m not even fixing it I™™m just getting a new fridge. It unfortunately broke 3 weeks after the 1 year warranty ended. I™™m regretting not getting the extended warranty I didn™™t realize how cheaply made this fridge is.

Refrigerator works well. Still haven™™t figured out why ice maker not delivering ice. Inside water delivery system is restrictive and you need both hands to fill glass through small tube. Otherwise the refrigerator works well and has convenient storage design and capacity.

The refrigerator is nice looking. I find the shelving and door bins to feel "cheap" compared to my old refrigerator. Also, the right produce bin will not open fully unless both of the
French doors are opened.
It is a good basic refrigerator and serves our purpose, but it is not anything special. We did not hook up the ice or water because of our well water. We do not drink our water so there was no sense in hooking those up.

Our refrigerator quit working 16 days after purchasing. Had to wait 2 weeks to have it repaired. Went out again in 37 days. Again had to wait about 2 weeks to have it repaired. Went out a third time in 53 days & had to wait about 2 weeks to have repaired. Went out a fourth time in 63 days. Had to wait almost 2 weeks to have a repair guy look at it & finally GE agreed to replace it. However we had to wait almost a week to receive the new one! How would you rate it? With only one exception your customer service people were pleasant, but having no refrigeration for over 2 months of the just over 7 months we owned it was a miserable experience! We™™ve only had the replacement for 28 days & I still don™™t trust it due to our past experience.

I put off buying a new frig for several years, living without a water dispenser, then ice-maker, finally saved enough money to buy the frig I desired -basic, but reliable. Top priority for us was: energy energy efficiency, seal integrity. But I™™m so frustrated and disappointed : the shelving sucks and unsafe - does not lock in. There™™s no egg holder or butter. This GE model was not top of the line, but $2000 price tag was a huge expense for our family! So disappointed GE!!!!!

I love this refrigerator! However,Within first few days sodas ,vegetables, yogurt, sauces froze. I called G E appliances and they told me to raise the temperature from factory set 37° to 44° which I did. It seems OK now.

This was a happy surprise. Our old refrigerator stopped cooling down and freezing. This refrigerator is just slightly smaller in size than the LG we had. INSIDE! Since the ice is being made in the freezer and the water is not in the door there is alot more room for everything! I love the storage on the doors and the freezer is the same size as my other freezer. I am quite happy with this purchase.

I love my refrigerator/bottom freezer with icemaker. I just wish it had come with the by pass plug. The filter needed changing the first month I started using it. We have gravity spring water to our house. So as soon as the plug comes we can continue making ice. Great customer support when I called for the free plug.

I have had this fridge for a week now and though that would not be considered fair to review it this early. I would say so far, it is aesthetic and beautiful. It cools well and was easy to setup. It is working wonderfully so far. The only downside which wouldn't be considered such, but to be fair and try to find one, if anything, would be it is not quite as large in the freezer compartment as my previous fridge. They take up the same space, but with the icemaker in the freezer which helps with adding to be more efficient, it gives more space for the main fridge, but less for freezer space due to ice maker room. Nothing is perfect but this unit is pretty much there. I am happy. The biggest thing I worry about is how long it will last. I am hoping for a minimum of 15 years or so. We'll see.

To be honest 3 stars is a stretch. It was warranty repaired twice in the first year. After two and a half years I had to replace it. It is one of the noisiest refrigerators Ive ever owned. Super, super, super, noisy!
Pros:
Ice maker is good if you have a high demand.
Produce is kept fresh quite well.
Cons:
Number one con: this refrigerator is noisy. Noisy, noisy,noisy,noisy!
The door seals are not great.
The doors don't stay open well even if it is level.
The water dispenser is a pain.
The freezer ices up frequently.
Would not even recommend to someone I don't like.

This model generates condensation on the underside of the glass shelves and ice forms on the back wall. Water gets everywhere! It freezes food in the refrigerator compartment. They replaced my first fridge and now the replacement is doing the same thing! Very disappointing and expensive! Food is constantly being ruined!

Would not recommend - we have had a little over 2 years and are having to replace (NOT buying another GE). This is the second GE refrigerator we have had and had problems with both. Like I said, we have only had this one a little over 2 years and the freezer freezes up and the refrigerator part does not cool - we have had to throw food away twice.

Overall we are pleased with the refrigerator. Fingerprint resistance is a nice feature that allows for less cleanup.Humidity control and seal integrity are very good. Temperature consistency is spot on. The refrigerator does seem to run a lot with the noise level being noticeable when the compressor kicks into high after loading with groceries but you get use to it.

Very nice fridge. Very cold, bright lights, nice layout inside. The unit is relatively quiet, however it does make some odd noises. The noises are quiet but I've never heard a fridge make them. However I've been told by others that the noises are 'normal'.

So far, we really like it. We haven't hooked up the water yet so can't say anything about the ice maker or water dispenser, but can say it keeps the temperature well and is very quiet. We were not sure about the temperature at first because we had just gotten it and had been opening and closing the door a lot so our milk was warm on the second day, but once we got into the normal use of it, it's been just right - good cold milk! The tech who came to check it said it was best to give it 24 hours before really assessing it and he was right.
One thing I would mention to any new buyers would be that if you have a whole house filtration system, you'll want to get a bypass plug for your in-fridge water filter (at the top right of the inside of the fridge) because you really don't need it. I was able to one for free by calling GE and they were very happy to send it - you just have to ask.

I bought this GE Model to replace an LG French door model that lasted 12 years until the Linear Compressor failed and the cost to repair was $1,600. It™™s unbelievable that a part on a product cost more to fix than a new unit and no local appliance dealer would touch it. So this time I decided to replace it with a GE, a company that I grew up with. I read the reviews about how cheap and flimsy the drawers and shelves were but I ignored them thinking well they can™™t be that bad. Well the reviews were right, compared to the LG Model, I had with good quality shelves and drawers, this model GE quality is bad with very flimsy cheap plastic shelves and drawers. The quick space shelf does not easily slide back, I had to remove to get to slide back. The drawers don™™t open and close smoothly. The fridge temperature jumps from 36° to 41°. I turned on Turbo Cool but nowhere does it mention how it turns off. I could replace it and buy a better quality model, but what hassle to go through that return process. I just hope it™™s going to last more than 5 years. I would not recommend this model.

Within 2 yrs the main control board failed. The fridge was not defrosting and the evaporator located on the back wall of the lower freezer would completely ice up preventing it to cool down properly. The circulating fan in the freezer was making all kinds of loud alternating vibrations. The defrost heating element and evap thermistor checked out ok. My last whirlpool fridge ran for over 20 yrs. Very disappointing™¦. More overpriced cheaply built junk.

After two weeks of purchasing this fridge, quick review, chilled water is a joke, Whirlpool had a tank, GE uses a rolled up plastic hose, which gives you less than half a glass of chilled water. The fridge runs all the time hardy ever shuts off, guess the electric bill will tell. Does keep everything cold and frozen.
Hopefully it will last longer than 4 years the last whirlpool fridge did.

This is my first french door fridge. Love the fridge with the LED lights and all the room. However, not a fan of the freezer drawer. It is very hard to organize and find items. Also, I think it doesn't always close all the way. I'll open it to find the items are a little wet.

I bought the GE Energy Star 27.0 (GNE27JYMFS) from Costco. At delivery it was factory-set at 0*/37* and I was told that I could start putting food in right away, but to allow 24 hours before adjusting temps. After more than 24 hours, my digital thermometer read 24*/51* -- well over the set temp. I reset the hi/lo on my thermometer and waited another 24 hours, it got down to 14*/48*, and the lowest fresh food temp was 44* -- not safe for food storage (FDA says below 40*). I then adjusted both fridge and freezer to their lowest possible settings, -6*/34*, and gave it another 24 hours. The freezer eventually got plenty cold, holding in a -6* to +6* range. The fresh-food compartment never got below 39* (barely food-safe), and ranged up to 44* (not food-safe). I called Costco and got the fridge replaced. The second unit had the same problem, but not as severe. It ended up taking 8 days, but I finally got the fresh-food compartment down to a range of 35* to 38* when set at 34*, and I decided to settle for that. BTW, I added two more digital thermometer units, and all 3 agreed on the temp, so it's not that my thermometer is inaccurate. I think the manufacturer got a batch of inaccurate thermostats, and both my fridges were part of the same manufacturing run.
I chose this particular fridge because it is same style as several I have had in the past and like -- french door, bottom freezer, icemaker, water inside (not thru door). This is the least-nice of all four. The adjustability of the shelves & door bins is very limited, the freezer drawer easily jams and won't close. (This happened while I was waiting for Costco to come pick up the first unit, and I had to just leave it open until they arrived. Before they took it out, I asked them to show me how to fix it in case it happened again to the new one, and it took them several minutes working with it before they finally just slammed it so hard I thought it would break or put a hole in my wall.) The ice-maker shut-off switch is kind of difficult to reach and can't easily read which way is on vs off, but it does make lots of ice fast. The water dispenser tube on the first fridge was installed crooked so that instead of curving out, it curved in toward the fridge wall and pressed against it, so that it was impossible to fit a glass behind it -- water would just run down the side of the fridge. I had to use a hair dryer to heat the plastic and bend it the other direction so that I could use the dispenser (the second fridge did not have that problem). The LED lights are nice.
Except, obviously, for the faulty thermostats and inoperable water dispenser, it's not a terrible fridge -- it's just meh. Now that I got the temp down to hold at a food-safe temperature (which still shouldn't have taken 8 days!) and I have a functional water dispenser, I will be satisfied with this fridge as long as it keeps working for a good long time -- but that's not something I can predict. The fridge I had to replace was only 6 years old. Fridges should not be considered "disposable," they should last way longer than that. I can only hope that this one does.
