This refrigerator works great and has a lot of neat features. I gave it the low rating because the brand new unit arrived and immediately started losing temperature. I had a repairman come out to look at it since it was under warranty. Turns out the unit shipped from the factory with a hole in the refrigerant line, which leaked oil residue all over my brand new floors. The repairman had to solder the line in order to fix the problem. A refrigerator at this price shouldn't come from the factory with such a huge problem.

I purchased this GE Cafà refrigerator expecting a high-quality appliance that would last for years, but I was extremely disappointed when it developed a major issue within the first year of ownership. Despite being a premium-priced refrigerator, it failed far too soon and the problem was determined to be unrepairable. A refrigerator at this price point should not have a complete failure after such a short amount of time. The inconvenience, wasted food, and frustration of dealing with a broken appliance that cannot even be repaired has been unacceptable. I expected much better reliability and customer support from GE CafÃ. Paying a premium price should come with premium quality, not an appliance that becomes unusable before it has even reached its first anniversary. I would strongly caution others to think carefully before purchasing this model.

Don't love how I can still see little pieces of the green plastic still in the grooves of handles or inside the doors because of how it needed to be taken off when it was already installed and placed in my kitchen. But I do love how easy it was to connect this fridge to the wifi and how simple it is to use it in the app. All good qualities.

Enjoy the appliance but due to how the door was put together in the factory, there was a pinched group of wires that cut off power to the water, ice, and freezer light. It was cheaper to replace the group of wires, requiring $350 in service after only using the appliance for a year and a half. Expected more for the price.

I like our new fridge ok but the space inside is poorly designed. I tried to move the shelves up and down but it didn™€™t help. There™€™s no room for taller bottles or pitchers. Main reason is because of the door dispenser. We had to buy this fridge in a hurry because our old one quick working. The fridges without a door dispenser (in a finish that matched our other appliances) weren™€™t available until February!! We couldn™€™t wait that long so we had to settle for a fridge we really didn™€™t want. Overall it™€™s a nice fridge. Works well. Looks nice in our kitchen. It™€™s just the space issue for us. But we™€™re getting used to it.

Ice and water dispenser have issues

Refrigerator is okay. The shelves on the door doesn™€™t slow for much room to fit various bottles. The ice maker and water dispenser are my biggest struggle. I water comes out extremely slow and the ice machine is constantly jammed up that you can™€™t get ice. Freezer door seems to have issue staying closed if It is near full. I would get rid of it but my entire kitchen is cafe brand

Problems with ice maker ™€¦

Does not cool down enough, thermistors off by +5°

I used a calibrated meter to check the temperature of the unit because the cheap thermometers I had were telling me it was not getting cold enough, even though the actual temperature shown on the unit control showed it was. I like my refrigerator to always stay below 38° because it makes all my smoothies last over a week. My meter shows that the unit is consistently 5° higher than what the actual temperature says on the control screen. The first pic was taken after the unit stopped cooling, the second was taken 45 minutes later when the unit started again. This means I cannot get the unit below 39° and it will not start cooling until it is over 41°. See pics. I hate to go my "grandpappy" here but I had a Kenmore unit that had no problems with this and still works, I bought it in 2002. There are some people here saying the unit keeps their stuff "cold!!" others are saying the opposite. If everyone is correct then the problem lies with proper testing of the thermistors or the circuit board they go to is not properly spanned from one unit to the next. I am giving this 2+ stars because, even though it is pretty, it is failing to perform the job it was designed to do which is keep the items at or below the FDA recommended 40°. The freezer temperature matches perfectly at 0°. I will be making a service call after I determine my Cafe dishwasher issues. I also have to more items to check, an induction cooktop and a French door oven. All of these items were purchased in December of 2023.

Pros: Great ice maker. All in door! Probably best in industry. Very pretty outside and in. Good lighting. Quiet. Terrible organization in doors, both top and bottom interior. But worst part is the doors are as harder to close than a commercial walk in cooler. It's 2024 and gravity close should be standard. These doors take substantial effort. I have to get alarmed and walk back to re-close 50% of the time. Thank god for the loud door alarm. WiFi is good because I guess I need to be buzzed on my watch when the door is open. I'm getting trained but I am used to smart and simple. Wife and I are talking about returning it.

This unit was purchased in July, 2023 delivered end of August. Was installed Mid September, and it has failed me already. Woke up to a puddle of water, a freezer that sounded like a lawn mower. The freezer door was closed, the fridge was still working and the power was still on. So yes I can confirm that the freezer broke already. Luckily the vendor is getting me a new one, rather than deal with getting this replaced.

Bought this refrigerator from NFM as a return, people didn™€™t like the color. It is beautiful and works perfect. The features are confident, like the water dispenser accommodates large glasses. Not as Expected

The bottom freezer came in with manufacturer defect due to an error on the encasing (see attached picture) and has the potential to cause injury due to its sharpness. This was expected on a product so expensive. The shelves appear very thin. The black color not as dark as shown on the company™€™s website. The volume of the hot water is too small. A variable volume sizes up to at least 3 cups would be more desirable. The lightning is great. The noise level was very low when the unit is running. The different drawers with humidity control is a plus. The display is great but the screen size is too small. The frig. capacity is great. The dispenser is too low. I had to return the unit mainly because of the defect. I am not too excited to buy it again.

Control panel was replaced 4 days after purchase, not cooling correctly. Ice cube dispenser only works sporatically. This refrigerator is less than 1 month old!

The refrigerator doors are great. The warning is really good because sometimes I don™€™t close it all the way. The filter in the refrigerator makes the water and ice taste great The vegetable bins are very good in where the fruit is skipped is very good to.

The main reason that we purchased this refrigerator was for the water dispenser features. Very disappointed to discover that when setting the cold water amount that you still have to stand and hold it against the dispense lever. Also disappointed that can't have more ounces at a time for the hot water. Love the lighting inside and the refrigerator overall compared to other brands/models that we looked at

Drawers on this fridge can not be removed.

I have the LARGER afe model. The crisper drawers are not removable for cleaning due to the doors do not open wide enough. This is the poorest configuration I have ever seen. I was told I have to take the glass out to clean any spills that happen along the rims and wipe the drawers out. Not very sanitary! (This is NOT the counter depth style). I™€™ve only had this less than a year and wasn™€™t even used for 6 months over winter. Sad! I would return it if I could!

The refrigerator is very spacious and I love the separate drawers for fruits, vegetables and deli items. the only thing we miss is the ability to readjust the shelves for taller items, other than that it is perfect.

Arrived with damaged doors

Unhappy with GE 4/6/2023

Waited 6 weeks for this fridge and it arrived with dents and scratches on both doors. New doors were ordered, which also came damaged. Second set of replacements 1 of 2 doors was damaged. I now have a total of 6 (5 damaged and waiting in my garage for pick-up) doors 2.5 months after my initial order was placed. What a pain in the you-know-what! For the cost I should not have to be put through this inconvenience and should probably start charging GE for storage space!!!
